With winter well and truly set in and snow on its way, I have been looking for simple and fun ways to entertain the children on the days when either the weather, or the endless stream of bugs they bring home from school in winter, means we are stuck in the house.
This week, the children have been happily passing the latest school virus back and forward to each other meaning and I have had at least one child off school every day.
With a grumpy baby hanging off my leg, a bored, slightly poorly, 4 year old home from school and a pile of laundry by the machine, It made my day when our latest subscription to toucanBox dropped through the letter box.
toucanBox, make craft boxes in three sizes. Petite which contains 1 craft project, Grande which contains 2 craft projects or Super which contains 4 craft projects. On top of the main craft projects they contain an activity booklet and stickers to collect to claim free gifts.
We have started with a petite subscription but as you can see it is really good value for money at just £3.95 a box. You can even add sibling materials to the box for just £1!
I love how each box is personally addressed to your child, which means they feel really special when it arrives. They are developed by an educational expert and the fortnightly subscription can be canceled at any time.
This box had a Kings and Queens theme. Minty’s bed time book of choice at the moment is ‘The Queen’s Knickers by Nicholas Allan’ so this theme really made her face light up.
She was able to follow the instructions with only a little guidance due to the picture instructions. This left me free to finish off the large quantity of laundry, three sick children produce!
The toucanBox came with a selection of other bits and bobs, so Minty set to work colouring in the family of royal finger puppets, and she spent the rest of the morning ruling over her own mini kingdom.
I think she makes an adorable queen and she couldn’t be more excited about her next box which will be landing on the doorstep in about two weeks.
Disclosure: toucanBox sent me this subscription for the purpose of review, however all opinions stated are my own.
